We have the exciting opportunity for a new role to support the delivery of the digital strategy in Talking Therapies. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams within Talking Therapies to identify and implement digital solutions that support Talking Therapies to offer an excellent service to the population of Berkshire. These digital solutions will be utilised to help support recovery, wait times, engagement and access within the Talking Therapies service. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with different teams, who is confident to implement and monitor innovative ways of working and who is passionate about the potential benefits that could be realised by digital technologies.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Talking Therapies service in Berkshire and will be appropriately qualified to provide Talking Therapies approve High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or they will be an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist with a training in a Talking Therapies approved additional modality (DIT,IPT, CfD, CTfD ). The post holder will also have additional training in Clinical Supervision and provide this as required.

At the moment, due to Covid-19, we are working a mix of remote and office. However your base will be down as West Berkshire (TBC Wokingham or Reading). As an organisation remote working is something we are continuously reviewing and considering for the longer term to support flexibility for our staff.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The jobholder will be required to work flexibly to cover the service hours of 8am - 8pm Monday -Thursday and 8am - 5pm Friday. This will include one evening a week plus an additional evening when covering groups or courses or as required by the service.

Education/Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Qualification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to post graduate diploma level. AND Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. RMN, Social Worker or equivalent. AND British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapy accreditation
  • Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. Counselling Psychologist/ RMN/ Social Worker or equivalent AND Recognised Accredited Qualification in Counselling (CFD)/ IPT/ DIT.

Desirable

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology /counselling or health psychology

Continuous Professional Development

Desirable

  • Desire to undertake further training and self-improvement to support patient experience

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Significant post qualification experience of PWP level assessment and treatment of clients in Primary Care Adult Mental Health
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of clients that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision to psychological therapists
