An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time, enthusiastic band 3 Phlebotomist to join our CQC rated 'Outstanding' Trust.
Based at West Berkshire Community Hospital, you will be working with a team of Phlebotomists. The department is expanding its opening hours and will be open between Monday to Friday between 07.45-18:30 hrs and on Saturday mornings between 08:00-12:00 hrs. We are a busy, dynamic department and would like to hear from suitable qualified people.
You will have had recent phlebotomy experience (minimum 6 months) and are expected to complete our local competency assessments.
This post is 8 hours per week
Main duties of the job
- Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.
- Ensure safe collection of blood samples according to agreed procedures.
- Ensure appropriate and accurate labelling and dispatch specimens to laboratories.
- To answer the telephone and deal with calls politely and efficiently
