Job summary

POST TITLE: Lead EPMA and Informatics Specialist Pharmacist

GRADE/SCALE/SALARY: Band 8a (plus EDC)

BASE: Prospect Park Hospital, Reading

This is an established role offering exciting opportunities to shape and drive the Berkshire Healthcare Clinical Informatics vision. You will get autonomy, variation and the chance to further develop your leadership skills. You will work in a forward thinking GDE Trust that has adopted a quality improvement (QI) programme which aims to help everyone deliver the best possible care to our patients, recognising that "better never stops".

Main duties of the job

As the Pharmacy Informatics Lead, you will be expected to represent pharmacy at external supplier meetings and high-level Trust meetings, including liaising closely with the Trust Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO). You will need to have a proven track record of implementing change.

Education/Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent
  • Statutory registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Clinical or psychiatric postgraduate diploma

Desirable

  • Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society UK
  • Management qualification
  • Formal qualification in IM&T related subject

Continuous Professional Development

Essential

  • Evidence of continuing professional development in line with GPhC recommendations

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post-qualification experience as a practising pharmacist in a hospital environment
  • Delivery of clinical pharmacy services across a broad range of specialities
  • Proven track record of managing teams to high performance levels and through change
  • Experience of developing drug protocols/contributing to formulary development
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of preparing budget reports for clinical areas
  • Involvement in developing a service within pharmacy
  • Experience of undertaking, developing and supervising audits or drug use evaluations
  • Experience of people management and conflict resolution

  • Experience of teaching and tutoring
  • Experience of mental health pharmacy
