Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Oakwood Unit for anexperienced, motivated, and enthusiastic band 2 Health care assistants post for full time (37.5hrs).

Oakwood is a nurse led community inpatient hospital with 24 beds. We are a very friendly team with In-House doctors, Nurses, health care assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Multi Therapy assistants.

The role will be based in the Oakwood inpatient community hospital which aims to support patients in increasing rehabilitative goals and functional abilities during a short stay to enable them to return home.

We are looking for dynamic and motivated staff, who can provide effective communication skills, a flexible approach, and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently. To ensure patient safety is always maintained. Fulfil the role of a Healthcare Assistant using a Competency Tool applicable to this role.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the qualified staff in the running of the ward and to provide direct care to patients.
  • To ensure patient safety is always maintained.

The "must haves" for you to be considered for this role:

  • English to a standard able to fulfil the role (fluent in written and verbal English)
  • Will be expected to undertake NVQ 2 in care or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
