Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager, managing our Children in Care team, a newly formed Berkshire wide Link team and management support to our West Health and Justice Teams who are located within the three local authority Youth Offending Services. The CiC team is newly developed in partnership with three Local Authority colleagues in West Berkshire, Reading and Wokingham. The Link team forms part of the Thames Valley-wide programme and is designed to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people with complex cases. Erlegh House Reading University is the base for CiC and Link Teams.

All three of the above health teams have been established to target support young peoples needs that are defined as 'complex' to ensure that children receive quicker access to mental health support. By working in partnership and sharing knowledge, we hope to effectively meet the needs. The services aim to improve life chances for young people, by working towards increasing these resiliency factors:

  • Creating stability of the CYPs home life and support ability to maintain relationships.
  • Fostering as strong an attachment as possible with the CYP foster carers or adults responsible for their care
  • Reaching as high as possible Education achievements
  • Creating local social networks, forming positive and meaningful relationships with peers and other adult

Main duties of the job

Clinical Roles will include.

  • Clinical leadership and day to day operational management of the team
  • Ensuring effective and safe delivery of a high-quality services, in line with relevant policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensuring services are responsive to local and national directives and that all key performance indicators are met.
  • Advice to team members and on occasion working alongside other staff to deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions, consultations, and training.
  • Working effectively with other senior colleagues to ensure high quality and effective joint working with partner agencies.

  • Experience of working with young people with mental health difficulties
  • Passion for providing collaborative and evidence-based mental health care
  • Enthusiasm for multi-professional and multi-agency working
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites

Essential

  • Postgraduate doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent for those who trained before 1996)
  • Registered and accredited with HCPC
  • Eligible for Chartered status with the BPS - OR
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent training in Systemic Family Therapy
  • UKCP registered - OR
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC) - OR
  • Occupational Therapy degree level qualification and registered with HPCP - OR
  • Registered Social Worker with relevant social work qualification. - OR
  • Qualified Psychotherapist registered with professional body i.e. ACP approved Child Psychotherapist. - OR
  • Other Health professional with relevant post graduate qualification.
