Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities
- Under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Psychologist, the Assistant will learn and apply social and developmental assessment procedures; carry out routine aspects of treatment, counselling, and training; and assist with research projects.
- Participate in case conferences and meetings necessary to carry out the above.
- Work within and alongside a wide multi-disciplinary team.
- Contribute generally to the maintenance and development of the Psychological Service for People with Learning Disabilities.
Applicants for this post would normally have an approved degree in Psychology and qualify for the graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society.

- Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
Continuous Professional Development

- Further post-graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.

- At least 6 months experience working - full-time equivalent with people with psychological problems/mental health problems/behaviour that would be considered challenging and/or other disabilities
- Experience of paid work in direct care provision.
