West Berkshire Community Dietetic Service based at Tilehurst clinic in Reading has an opportunity to offer a permanent Band 6 role. A Band 5/new graduate with the right skills may also be considered. The post is part time (18.75hrs) although extra hours may be available.
The post holder will be covering a varied community caseload, including dietetic support to the Sue Ryder Palliative Care Service, managing a Nutritional support caseload, providing diabetes education and covering a monthly general outpatient clinic.
We are a mobile working service and offer our patients the choice of face-to-face, virtual and phone appointments. To support this, we have excellent IT access and support staff home-working where appropriate. There is also the flexibility to work from other dietetic bases in West Berkshire including Thatcham and Reading.
Main duties of the job
- Working under the guidance of the Team Lead Dietitian, to provide dietetic care to a varied and diverse caseload of patients in the community and community inpatients.
- Providing specialist dietetic treatments e.g. Working as part of Sue Ryder multi-disciplinary palliative team, managing a nutritional support caseload and covering general outpatient clinics.
The "must haves" for you to be considered for this role:
A four-year degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and registered with Health Care Professionals Council and full BDA membership
Ability to demonstrate good experience and knowledge in dietetics including palliative care, nutrition support and diabetes education.
Aptitude for coaching and supervising junior staff including Dietetic Assistant Practitioners.
Ability to prioritise workload and work flexibly, travelling to multiple sites if required.
Ability to work from home with access to wifi using equipment provided by BHFT
