Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join our thriving Community Mental Health Team at the cutting edge of the transformation underway in adult mental health. We can offer a wealth of opportunities for development including comprehensive training and supervision in specialist assessment and therapies. We cover Windsor Ascot and Maidenhead, based in Maidenhead town centre.

Main duties of the job

  • You will work as a valued member of the Windsor Ascot & Maidenhead Community Mental Health Team within Psychological Therapies, and will contribute to the delivery of evidence-based psychological therapy, supervision, consultation, teaching and joint working within multi-professional teams
  • Enthusiastic and capable, you will offer assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention to clients with complex mental health problems in line with recent evidence and service model
  • A dedicated professional, you will take part in audit, evaluation and research and contribute to outcome measurement and review of the efficacy of psychological interventions
  • Communicating complex and sensitive information in a clear and professional manner, you will be resilient and calm when faced with situations that are highly emotive. An empathetic advocate for patients, their families and carers, you will work to support them to achieve their goals with the most relevant support available
  • You will show great communication and teaching skills will be happy to contribute to the clinical supervision, training and line management, where appropriate, of assistant, trainee or graduate psychologists or other professionals
  • Reliable and knowledgeable, you will have great IT skills and be familiar with various systems and software packages. You will need access to your own car, and be able to travel independently across Berkshire
