Job summary

Through co-production Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has developed a comprehensive care pathway for individuals who may have difficulties associated with a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). The SUN (Service User Network) service is a newcomponent of the pathway and is based on a national model for SUN.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic professional to appoint in a key leadership role for the SUN Service within Berkshire. The post holder will support the team in the delivery of groups, provide line management and support to the team and be responsible for the ongoing growth and development of this exciting new service. Groups are now delivered across various sites in Berkshire and the successful candidate will be working regularly from our base in Reading with some travel to sites across Berkshire as needed. Home working may be possible on some days ifthis fits with the overall needs of the service and the team

Main duties of the job

SUN is exclusively a group network, which is aimed at providing ongoing support for SUN members through attending groups as and when they feel they need support. The post holder will be managing a team of Lived Experience and Core Professional Facilitators, who jointly co-facilitate SUN groups. All our facilitators, both Lived Experience and Core Professional, are paid BHFT employees. The team meets weekly for supervision, training and reflective practice.

The SUN Team sits within the Intensive Management of Personality-disorder Clinical Therapies Team, (IMPACTT) and the post holder will have line management with a Senior Psychological Therapist in the wider team.

The "must haves" for this role:

  1. Diploma or degree level professional qualification such as Nurse, OT, Psychologist or Social Worker and registered with relevant professional body;
  2. Completed a management and/or leadership training programme alongside strong experience in a management role and service development;
  3. Experience of working in multiple mental health settings and experience of working with people with a diagnosis of EUPD;
  4. Excellent communication skills
  5. Experience of co-production and working alongside people with Lived Experience;
  6. Hold a clean driving licence and have use of a car for work.
