Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our East Berkshire Service. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative candidate to a Band 6 Musculoskeletal Practitioner position. We encourage applications from physiotherapists and osteopaths with a relevant MSK degree level qualification and registration with the relevant professional body (HCPC or GOsC). We will also consider a band 5/6 developmental post; once established competencies have been achieved, the post would convert to Band 6. We will consider part time or full time and we would consider a static post at any of the localities if the Service need requires it.

We offer excellent, structured, in-service training with development opportunities in FCP (First Contact Practitioner), MSK Triage, Pain, Advanced Assessment Clinics (AAC) and Management roles.

MSK Outpatient work/ physio or osteopath / full or part time / no 'On call' or weekend work / MSc level training supported / multi-site / Free staff parking. The caseload will consist of mainly GP referrals, with some from Orthopaedics. Flexible working patterns.

Main duties of the job

  • Work at a high level of clinical skill seeing a caseload of MSK referrals mainly consisting of GP referrals
  • Supervising band 3,4 and 5 physiotherapists and physio technicians
  • Involved in the clinical education of physiotherapy students
  • Service development and involvement in the service Quality Improvement drive.

Working pattern + Service operating hours

This post is open to those looking for part time or full time work. The service operates Monday to Friday between 07:30-18:00 depending on site - there will be a level of flexibility in the hours you work depending on service need.

The4 "must haves" for you to be considered for this role:

  • Qualified Physiotherapist with HCPC registration or Osteopath with GOsC registration
  • Previous MSK physiotherapy experience at Band 5 level or comparative
  • Sound clinical reasoning and MSK knowledge
  • NHS experience or comparative work

Essential

  • Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HPC Registered
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD e.g. maintained in a portfolio; attendance at musculoskeletal postgraduate courses; informal learning
  • Member of the CSP

Previous Experience

  • 18 months band 5 rotational experience or suitable alternative experience; must include at least 4 months of Musculoskeletal Outpatients.
