Job summary

Are you a newly qualified / about to qualify Speech & Language Therapist looking for a role to support you through your band 5 competencies? Do you want a role which can offer you experience in different areas of Children's services?

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Early Years & Schools team based in West Berkshire.

Within this position you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced therapists assessing & providing interventions for a range of children.

You will have the opportunity to gain a wealth of experience in different areas of Children's Speech & Language Therapy. Your time will be divided as such; 2 days Early Years,1 day language resource,2 days West Berkshire Mainstream schools

We can offer you a supervision team of well experienced professionals as well as mentoring and the opportunity to expand your knowledge with internal and external training. We can also offer this as a preceptorship role in which you will be supported to sign off your band 5 competencies.

We open to both already qualified and those who are soon to qualify and are really looking for someone who wants the opportunity to progress their clinical skills and professional career within a supportive and dynamic integrated therapy team.

The core hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm and we are happy to consider those looking for full or part time. As this is a community role it will involve travel to several sites but also leaves room for some home working.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high quality assessment and interventions for Children and young people using evidence based interventions
  • Undertake clinical sessions, and manage a caseload as required
  • To function as an autonomous clinician, with a role in supporting delivery of the new CYPF model and providing support to other more junior CYPIT therapists and non-professional staff
  • To be responsible for accessing required support and mentoring to enable you to undertake your clinical responsibilities and to plan your own caseload from relevant band 6 and 7 staff within their designated Area
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinical and professional / education colleagues across the health and local authority community
