Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, NURSE, OR CLINICAL RESEARCH PRACTITIONER to join the Research and Development Team within Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Team Lead.

Berkshire Healthcare is one of the most research active Mental Health and Community Trusts in the country. We are currently welcoming a new Team Lead to our friendly team. Applicants will be accepted from Allied Health Professions, Nursing, or Clinical Research Practitioners. This role will be based out of University of Reading.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, motivated individual with previous experience of working in healthcare research. This is an opportunity to join our busy Research and Development delivery team working on studies on a range of specialisms including Dementia, Mental Health, Sexual Health, and Physical Health.

This post is based at University of Reading, Whiteknights Campus, but you will be required to travel as required by the job role and as such a time efficient mode of transportation is essential. Currently the Trust is supporting remote working where appropriate.

This is a fixed term post until 31/03/2024

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide operational leadership day-to-day on the management and development of the research team portfolio. They will be accountable for recruitment targets within the team and will aid the team to identify studies, assess team capacity and workloads, prioritisation, assessment, management, and recruitment of patients to clinical research studies. This will involve:

  • Line management and supervision of allocated team members
  • Co-ordinating, facilitating and supporting day-to-day activities for concurrent research studies
  • Identifying, recruiting, and supporting participants through the research process
  • Provide support as necessary to study teams and clinicians
  • Working both autonomously and with the research team to drive clinical research delivery performance within Berkshire Healthcare
  • Supporting the research team to achieve research targets

  1. Experience of research in a health or social care setting

  3. Excellent communication skills
  4. IT skills
