Main duties of the job

Since 2017 Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has been embarking on an ambitious journey of delivering a Quality Improvement (QI)

strategy across the Trust. The QI Programme aims to make improvements in the following areas known as 'True North':

  • Harm free care
  • Supporting our staff
  • Patient experience
  • Money matters

We are seeking to embed a culture of continuous improvement, delivered through the participation of all staff and service users and carers.

The QI Team supports the delivery and overall development of the QI Programme and we have an opportunity for a dynamic individual, who is passionate about continuous improvement in healthcare, to join our team. The post holder will support Berkshire Healthcare's diverse range of services, training and coaching staff in improvement methodology and supporting them to apply these skills in their work.

  • Yellow belt lean training or demonstrable equivalent knowledge in improvement methodology

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Improvement Practitioners will have experience of supporting projects which are recognised as being successful
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders to promote the rationale for change and achieve buy in by creating shared commitment and goals for improvement.
  • Previous experience in methods of improvement and theories of change and experience using Lean thinking, tools and approaches.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across all levels
  • Good facilitation skills and experience of supporting projects to deliver positive outcomes where there may be significant resistance to change
  • Good interpersonal skills to deliver highly complex, sensitive and contentious corporate messages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Willing to undertake self-directed learning
