IPASS (The Integrated Pain and Spinal Service) is looking to recruit a Band 8A Occupational Therapist on a permanent contract in order to offer specialist input into the new Berkshire Long-Covid Integrated Service (BLIS).
There is the opportunity for elements of home and flexible working for which you will be provided appropriate equipment. You will recognize the importance of working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team as well as have experience of service development. Demonstrating the ability to provide specialist assessments and intervention you will be responsible for the management of patients who are experiencing Long-Covid with particular emphasis on vocational rehabilitation.
Long-Covid rehabilitation is an essential need in the current times and this post offers a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering high-quality, compassionate care to this patient group. Alongside colleagues from the acute sector you will work across both Primary and Secondary care levels facilitating specialist assessment and management of Long-Covid within individual and group environments. This role is appropriate for those with excellent communication skills, a drive to develop services and who wish to progress to a high level of clinical skills in managing long term conditions.

Main duties of the job
Provide high quality care to patients who have been diagnosed with Long-Covid through the provision of assessment, group and individual treatment sessions
An opportunity to assist in the design of a new service to accommodate the needs of Long-Covid patients alongside the existing IPASS framework working closely with colleagues from secondary care
Develop strategies for vocational rehabilitation appropriate to this client group
Work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team, including Psychologists, Physiotherapists and Consultant and offer unique insight into the functional needs of this group

- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy recognised by RCOT
- Member of HCPC
- Evidence of MSc or formal post-graduate qualification
- To have undertaken accredited courses which enable work to be performed at highly specialist level related to long term condition management and show evidence of ongoing CPD activity in areas relevant to the post
- Significant Post-Graduate training in the specialist field: high level of skills underpinned by experience
- Additional training in Psychological therapies such as CBT and ACT
- RCOT membership
