We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacy Technician to join our team, where they will be responsible for the training and development of all staff within our Pharmacy Technical Team. In this exciting role you will be responsible for designing, delivering and co-ordinating training programs for all the Pharmacy Technical Team across the organisation. your expertise will be instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within our Pharmacy Department.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Education and Training Pharmacy Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs within the pharmacy setting. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the skills and knowledge of pharmacy staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and adherence to regulatory standards.

This includes overseeing the educational needs of pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, the pharmacy support team, apprentices, and relevant staff grades.

Additionally, the role involves providing crucial support to the Principal Pharmacist (Education & Training) in delivering education and training to undergraduate pharmacy students, trainee pharmacists, and qualified pharmacists.

Collaboration with key stakeholders, this includes establishing and sustaining training placements, securing funding streams, and crafting robust training programs at WHH

The post holder will act as line manager for all pre-registration trainee Pharmacy Technicians.

The post holder will be required as part of their role to act as a Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician and work to provide an admission, supply and discharge service to nominated wards.

The post holder will have a commitment to the dispensary, to undertake dispensing, final checking, mentoring/training and supervisory duties as required.
