Job summary
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is experienced in clinical education, simulation and Human Factors, who is innovative and committed to providing high quality, effective, flexible and inclusive clinical education.
As part of this role the post holder will be required to design, develop, deliver and evaluate Clinical Education programmes which encompass essential clinical skills, high fidelity simulation, human factors, communications skills and patient safety training. They will support the Trust's to embed a culture of Patient Safety & Human Factors awareness through all educational programmes.
The post holder will lead on the Trusts simulation and Acute Illness Management offer to undergraduate and post graduate learners, and staff at WHH. They will be involved in the wider remit of team training including resuscitation and debriefing in the clinical areas in response to both planned insitu education and real life clinical incidents.
Main duties of the job
- To identify and promote evidence-based simulation, skills, and resuscitation practice within the Trust, through the implementation and facilitation of classroom and clinically based teaching / education, to ensure that all staff groups are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles competently.
- Implement teaching programmes, incorporating theoretical teaching, skills and simulation assessment utilizing differing levels of fidelity in simulation and part task training.
- The post holder will work closely with the University of Liverpool's and the Northwest Deanery to develop formal education strategies for medical students and trainee doctors, so ensuring links between theory and practice are securely comprehended and implemented.
- The post holder will undertake audit and assist in the development of professional educational policies, standards, and best practice guidelines. The role also involves representing the Trust at local and regional levels.
- Provide empathetic support in practice and pastoral support to medical students and doctors in training, utilising effective communication strategies.
