Job summary

The post holder will support the team in providing expert clinical and supportive care for patients diagnosed with Gynaecology cancers and work with the Local Multidisciplinary Team and Regional Specialist Multidisciplinary Teams in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment pathway, providing individualised, compassionate, and informed patient care.

As a Gynae CNS you will be part of this team and work as an integral part of the Gynae Service at the hospital supporting the patients of the Warrington and Halton communities through their Gynae Cancer journey.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for providing appropriate specialist advice, support and education to patients throughout the Gynae Cancer pathways, from diagnosis to treatment end.

To play a pivotal role within the Gynae Cancer team providing: specialist information; high quality care; assessment, advice, and support for those patients on a suspected Gynae cancer pathway having investigative procedures and eventual diagnosis and treatment of a Gynae cancer. This will extend to their families / carers and other Health Care Professionals both internal and external to the Trust, which will promote a seamless service within a multi-professional framework.

This is a challenging and demanding role and requires a proactive, self-motivated, dedicated person who can manage complex care pathways across multiple agencies and services to ensure the highest quality of care and service delivery for all patients. You will have excellent clinical, communication and decision-making skills, be able to manage your own workload and have problem solving skills. You will be an excellent team player but equally able to work autonomously.
