Job summary

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team within the fast pace environment of the Paediatric Emergency Department.

We are looking for nurses who can demonstrate a kind, compassionate, positive attitude, with a desire to provide effective and efficient urgent and Emergency Care practice.

As a senior member of the nursing team you will be expected to support and lead staff within the Paediatric Emergency Department; acting as a role model and working cohesively with the multidisciplinary team.

You will be expected to assist senior nursing staff with management requirements ensuring that quality service is maintained. You are expected to participate in education throughout the unit and hospital and ensure quality is maintained.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care as part of the multi-disciplinary team from admission to discharge using research based practice.- To deliver care in accordance with the regulatory body's code of practice and the Trust's and ED policies and protocols. To be aware of the organisational and nursing strategy.- Ensuring safeguarding issues are acted upon promptly and appropriately.- Participation with auditing effectiveness and incorporating findings into practice.- Participation in the trust's achievement of quality and financial targets, locally and nationally driven.

Maintain active status on NMC register.

Act always in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct and guiding documents

Adhere to Trust Policy and Procedure

Maintain up to date skills and knowledge and maintain awareness of professional issues.
