Job summary
Halton Hospital are recruiting band 5 nurses or ODPs to work
in our purpose-built elective service based at Halton
Hospitals in Runcorn and we are seeking motivated and caring individuals who
share our mission to be outstanding for our patients, our communities and each
other. We welcome applications from experienced or newly qualified ODPs and
RGNs or applicants due to qualify in 2023
A successful applicant would be based at
the Halton site. You will be required to care for the patient throughout the
perioperative journey ideally working in 2 of the areas of anaesthetics, scrub
and recovery.

Main duties of the job
All applicants will be expected to possess
excellent communication and team working qualities with a willingness to learn
new skills. You should be forward thinking and passionate about providing a
high standard of care. Practitioners will be team players with a flexible
attitude to the service requirements, and a defined awareness of the importance
of service delivery. We welcome individuals who have an enthusiastic approach
to teaching students and junior members of staff.
In return for your dedication and
enthusiasm, we offer a fully supported preceptorship and core competency
programme, championed by our perioperative practice education team. Continuing
Professional Development is available via both in-house and university-based
training initiatives such as Advanced Life Support with regular CPD reviews to support progress. We are an elective site
with 3 theatres, 1with laminar flow and a treatment room providing a high
standard of clean air quality for patients and staff and perform a wide range
of surgery including:
Urology
Breast
General Surgery
Gynaecology
ENT
Pain Management
Service
Laser Vein Surgery

over 4 weekday shifts

The
Nightingale building is part of our elective general surgery hospital which has
two theatres for elective surgery and a treatment suite for laser vein surgery
and Chronic Pain services. It is situated
adjacent to the Captain Sir Tom Moore Building (CSTM).

There are 4
elective surgery theatres on this site all with laminar air flow. This site has
3 theatres for mainly orthopaedic elective surgery and 1 theatre which covers
breast, urology, Ear Nose and Throat Surgery, and other surgical specialities
as required.

There are
eight theatres on the Warrington acute site which provides services for the
following specialties: Gynaecology, Obstetrics, General Surgery including
laparoscopic surgery, Urology, Breast Surgery, ENT, Dental, Colorectal
including laparoscopic surgery, Ophthalmic, Trauma & Orthopaedic, and
Paediatrics.
We also
provide a 24-hour Trauma, Obstetric and Emergency service. As part of this
service staff who are based on this site are required to support emergencies
and provide an out of hours service including rotation onto nights and an
on-call Rota.
