Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated and
energetic staff nurse to join our Cardiology team, working within our purpose
built Cardiac Catheter Suite. The team consists of 5 nurses and 2 lab
assistants, with additional support from radiographers, cardiac physiologists
and cardiologists.
Current
hours are 8.5 hour days, Monday to Friday (3 days)
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will
ideally have some recent cardiology and/or Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology
experience. They will be expected to work in the Catheter Laboratory, the day
ward and the nurse led pre-assessment service.
A preceptorship will commence on appointment.
There will be developmental opportunities available in the future with in-house
and external training provided.

The Cardiac Catheter Suite
comprises of a state of the art cardiac catheter laboratory (refurbished lab
opened May 2022), a dedicated 10 bedded day ward, offices, clerical areas and
education/seminar facilities.

- Ability to create rapport with patients in a short space of time with very little background knowledge. This is particularly important when supporting those patients who have been given bad news e.g. require surgery.

- Able to maintain accurate patient records.
- Basic IT skills in e-mail.
- Basic knowledge of professional and NHS issues.
- Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting.
