Job summary

The post is a 12 months Fixed Term post based at Warrington Hospital with a possibility of an extension or growth into a permanent position. Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in pacing or cardiac imaging .

The appointee will support the development of our services and will contribute to acute cardiology and the provision of outpatient clinics with sub speciality sessions in pacing or cardiac imaging.

There is a commitment to the cardiology on-call including "Consultant of the Week" and 7 day working to ensure all unwell cardiology patients are reviewed on a daily basis.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to deliver high quality, patient centred care at Warrington Hospital.

You will contribute to general cardiology services, including outpatients' clinics and inpatient ward work as consultant of the week and reviewing outlying patients with cardiac conditions.

You will shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service and participation in strategic planning

You will be expected to attend and be actively involved in MDT meetings and directorate clinical governance activity across Cardiology Services.

Teaching and training resident doctors are essential to your professional activity as well as participating in continuing medical education.
