Main duties of the job
A full range of radiological services are available at WHHFT including Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT/MR, DEXA and Cardiac Catheter Suite. There are 4 multi-slice CT Scanners, 3 MRI Scanners, a gamma/SPECT camera and a comprehensive ultrasound and plain radiography service. WHH is part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Radiology Collaborative On-call Network, with Carestream PACS and RIS systems installed. The collaboration enables on call CT reporting to be performed by the on-call hub, staffed by the trainees in the region with consultant addenda provided following checking the next morning to maintain safe standards.
We strive to create excellent opportunities for a great work-life balance with all Consultants having access to full PACS homework stations to support flexible and agile working opportunities. The Trust is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in association with the University of Liverpool and up to 8 Specialist trainees are attached to the department at a time. The Trust comprises two hospitals, Warrington (acute) and Halton (non-acute) with the latter consisting of 2 separate buildings on the campus: Captain Sir Tom Moore Building and the Nightingale Building. The Breast Care Centre resides in the Captain Sir Tom Moore Building, which is the most modern of all the Trust's facilities.
