Job summary
As part of a £1.15m investment in
Geriatric Medicine medical staffing, an exciting opportunity is available at
Warrington and Halton Hospitals to join our friendly and expanding Geriatric
Medicine team as Care of the Elderly Consultant in the Integrated Medicine and
Community Clinical Business Unit.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the Care of the Elderly
consultant team you will work as part of a multi-Disciplinary ward based team
overseeing the care of your patients.
Depending on your sub-specialty
interests clinical and non-clinical sessions can be built into your job plan
including but not limited to Orthogeriatrics, Perioperative medicine for older
people undergoing surgery (POPS), Movement Disorder, Dementia or acute medicine
sessions. The CBU is focused on developing the service in new and innovative
ways and would support sessions to develop new services.
Admin and SPA time is allocated
accordingly and you would also be part of the GIM on-call rota.
About us
Based predominantly on the Warrington
site, we can also support you to develop your subspecialty interests (for
example, in acute frailty care, movement disorders, orthogeriatrics, falls or
rehabilitation) and we fully support the development of skills in education,
management and leadership. The post-holder will work with other Consultant
Geriatricians in providing a range of services for older people with complex
needs, so you will have a supportive and friendly team around you, providing
plenty of scope for you to showcase your skills and to develop professionally.
This is also a great opportunity for
you to live and work in the town of Warrington, a rapidly growing town
surrounded by the rural Cheshire countryside and only a short distance from
Manchester, Liverpool and Chester.
