Senior Respiratory Physiologist

Job summary
To work unsupervised as a competent respiratory practitioner undertaking lung function tests as well as sleep analysis and CPAP clinics. To be involved in the setup of new services.
supporting the community respiratory service by ensuring community clinic reports are sent within deadline targets.
To participate in the training and supervision of the trainee respiratory Physiologists and ATO staff, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Main duties of the job
o To be competent in all routine investigations in the department including Spirometry +/- reversibility, respiratory muscle strength, full lung function test using nitrogen washout method.
o To undertake fitting and analysis of limited channel sleep studies and overnight oximetry.
o To issue new CPAP devices and undertake follow-up clinics both on the telephone and face to face.
o Supporting the community respiratory service by ensuring community clinic reports are sent within deadline targets.
To participate in the training and supervision of the trainee respiratory Physiologists and ATO staff, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
o Provide administrative support as required.
o Maintain clinical competencies.
o Work in conjunction with other staff to ensure the service needs are met.
o Perform spirometry in a community clinic when required.
o To be involved with setting up new services within the department
