Overview
The Clinical Business Unit is seeking enthusiastic members of staff to join the Urgent & Emergency Care Team. We have a professional and dedicated team committed to providing a first-class service to our patients and clinical users.
We are a busy department working 24 hours a day across 7 days per week, and the successful candidate will be required to work 12.5 hour days and weekends on a rotational basis.
This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their interpersonal skills and to further develop their experience in a supportive environment within a forward-thinking Trust.
Previous experience of working in a Healthcare environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
To carry out a full range of portering duties within the hospital, which will include the efficient transfer of patients, transportation of equipment, ward/department-based furniture, pathology specimens, linen, and waste.
In the event of a fire alarm, identify the area where the suspect fire is on the control panel, meeting the Fire Brigade and directing to the appropriate area if required. Remain on scene to take direction from the Site Manager and Fire Brigade. Respond to a Crash call, collecting the Defibrillator trolley and attending the incident. Call the Emergency Services as and when required. Respond to panic alarms.
