Job summary

Warrington and Halton Hospital Radiology Department is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for the Ultrasound/X-ray Department.

If you have a caring nature with excellent communication skills and would be motivated by working in a busy but supportive environment, then the HCA role at Warrington and Halton Hospitals is the job for you!

We are looking for a hard-working, friendly individual who takes pride in their work with a professional manner. The HCA post involves working alongside Sonographers, Consultant Radiologists, Specialist Trainees, Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers and Radiology Nurses.

The successful applicant will ideally need to have some recent healthcare experience, but this is not essential, as on the job training will be given. You must also be able to demonstrate sensitivity, maturity and a caring attitude when faced with stressful situations.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking, individual who will work as an integral part of the team to deliver a high level of patient care to patients attending for their diagnostic examinations.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be a team player who is able to work under non-direct supervision, prioritising their own workload. Applicants are required to possess excellent communication skills, as they will be liaising with and helping patients throughout the working day. They will also be required to communicate with all levels of staff both face to face and over the telephone.

Applicants must also be able to demonstrate experience of a range of standard and/or bespoke IT applications.

The focus of the post holder is to provide a high standard of care to patients attending the Radiology Department. Following a period of support and training you will be required to provide support to Sonographers, Consultant Radiologists, Specialist Trainees, Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers and Radiology Nurses. General duties of this role are preparation of clinical rooms, patient support, chaperoning and assisting medical and clinical staff with procedures.

Radiology covers 3 sites; Warrington, CSTM and Halton. We also cover an Urgent Care Centre in Widnes. Radiology provide a vast array of services across all these sites and have a professional and dedicated imaging team committed to providing a first class service to our patients and clinical users, with the service focusing upon producing high quality, technical and diagnostic images and providing excellent standards of patient care.

Diagnostic imaging is a core service at the Trust playing an extensive role in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and the identification of skeletal abnormalities. We are abusy department working 12 hours a day across 7 days per week . We are a team that is keen to push boundaries and develop our staff from within.
