as face-to-face conferences and courses resume.
The successful candidates will join the Cross-Sectional Imaging team, gaining experience on our 2 CT scanners & 2 1.5T MRI scanners on the Warrington site. In April 2020, we installed the UKs first 640 slice Canon Aquilion One PRISM CT scanner and are now a reference site for Canon. The CSI team also work on the 128 slice CT scanner & 3T MRI scanner in the Captain Sir Tom Moore Centre on the Halton site
Main duties of the job
Our department expansion and equipment replacement
programme continue with the build and installation of a new Siemens 1.5T Sola
as a 2nd MRI scanner on the Halton site, expanding our MRI services
to cover the new Clinical Diagnostic Centre. The Warrington A&E expansion
project includes the installation of a third CT scanner on the Warrington site,
extending the CT department, which already provides separate Inpatient and
Outpatient entrances, highlighting our high standards in patient-centered care.
All our Band 6 CT radiographers are trained to do CT
Colonography and Cardiac Imaging. Our Band 6 MRI radiographers are trained in
breast imaging and we are developing our Cardiac MRI service.
Our CT out of hours cover is a resident on-call system
with lucrative payments and generous rest time attached. We do not operate an MRI on call system.
There are lots of opportunities for voluntary overtime.
We care for our patients across three sites situated
within close commuting distance from one another which provide a range of
clinical experiences for our staff. The CSI team routinely work on all sites, which are connected by
a free cross site bus.

About us
Radiology covers 3 sites:
Warrington, CSTM and Halton. We also
cover an Urgent Care Centre in Widnes.
Radiology provide a vast array of services across all these sites and
have a professional and dedicated imaging team committed to providing a first
class service to our patients and clinical users, with the service focusing
upon producing high quality, technical and diagnostic images and providing
excellent standards of patient care.
Diagnostic imaging is a core service at the Trust playing an extensive
role in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and the identification of
skeletal abnormalities. We are a busy department working 12 hours a
day across 7 days per week. The department
is actively involved in training students from the University of Liverpool. We
also support post-graduation studies across all modalities.
