Specialist Dietitian

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist dietitian to work with our small, friendly dietetic team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive dietitian, with excellent clinical, communication and team working skills. You will provide cover to intensive care and medical wards supporting the Band 7 dietitian. The post will be based at Warrington Hospital.

The department is actively involved in student training placements and there is scope for the successful applicant to contribute significantly to this. There will also be opportunities to develop supervisory skills through supporting band 5 dietitians and support staff.

You will be actively involved in the development, implementation and audit of patient care practices as part of clinical governance. We actively promote and encourage continuous professional development and have good access to IT and library facilities.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner within the Acute Dietetic Team

To undertake ongoing and comprehensive assessments of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies

To provide clinical education, advice and support to junior therapy staff and support staff

To supervise, educate and assess the performance of therapy students

To contribute to service development
