Job summary

We are pleased to recruit to an exciting and challenging role within the WHH Quality Improvement Team. As a QI facilitator you will play an important role in our drive to build a culture of continuous improvement, engaging and supporting our clinical and operational teams to deliver measurable change through the application of quality improvement methodology. This is six-month fixed term post initially, offering a great opportunity to develop your QI skills and experience.

There is a potential opportunity for his post to be a secondment.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic, curious and innovative individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about a range of QI methods, with the skills to train and coach staff in their use. You will be experienced in managing projects, be able to process complex information and have excellent analytical skills. You must be flexible in your approach and be able to work independently, leading on delegated aspects of the QI portfolio.

The post holder will lead delegated aspects of the Quality Improvement portfolio, working with the Head of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), CQI Leads, QI Project Coordinator and Quality Academy Administrator. The post holder will have advanced knowledge of recognised Quality Improvement methodologies used at the Trust and will have the skills to support and coach staff in the use of QI tools and techniques. They will build partnerships throughout the organisation and will be confident in delivering training in Quality Improvement methodology, supporting the organisation in our aim to build a culture of learning and continuous quality improvement.

The Quality Academy is based at the Warrington Hospital and includes a core team of improvement staff, alongside Clinical Audit, Research, Development and Innovation, and Knowledge and Evidence Services.

Essential

  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies and their application
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence in delivering training on QI methodologies
  • Knowledge of steps for successful measurement and the skills to use measurement approaches to demonstrate project outcomes.
  • Ability to enable teams to make appropriate interventions through careful analysis of the problem.
  • Creative development of improvement content that will assist teams to improve outcomes and experience for patient.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise a diverse workload, and to work to deadlines
  • Able to work flexibly and embrace change
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Confidence to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with office systems and computers
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate Trust core values and behaviours

  • Experience of collaboration
  • Experience coaching/teaching

Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent knowledge and experience, plus development at Post Graduate Level or equivalent knowledge and experience in Project management / Health Administration

  • Experience implementing change/quality improvement
  • Proven project management experience
  • Presentation of data in written and graphical format
