Job summary
The Clinical
Audit Department is a small, friendly team who are looking to recruit an
enthusiastic, highly motivated Clinical Audit Officer. You will be working full time (37.5hrs) at the Warrington hospital site improving
patient care. The workload is varied, interesting, and training is provided.
Main duties of the job
The post
holder will be responsible for the development and management of clinical audit
activities at the Trust. This will
require working across all services to ensure that performance against key
metrics is reviewed and actions are implemented to address any identified
performance issues. The ideal candidate
must have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to build
strong relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues and pay
meticulous attention to detail.

identified safety priorities. Support and facilitate clinical audit projects as identified
through the Clinical Audit Forward Programme and projects associated with the
Quality Academy. To act as a link with assigned
Clinical Business Units to provide support on the audit and quality improvement
agendas. Work in partnership with all clinical and managerial staff across
the Trust and other agencies where relevant. Identify and monitor the implementation of high-quality
improvements which ensure patient safety, focus on clinical effectiveness and
ultimately improve services provided to patients. Deputise for the Head of Clinical Audit at key Trust meetings as required

- Education to degree level (or equivalent or equivalent experience) in Project management subject/ Health / Administration experience
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- A good understanding of the concept of clinical audit and clinical audit processes
- An understanding of other quality initiatives within the NHS
- Knowledge of how to analyse complex audit data and present clinical audit findings, including the development of robust SMART action plans
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Facilitation skills to initiate, plan, manage and deliver projects
- Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
- Resilient and able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent computer skills to include competence in the following MS applications:
- Word
- Excel and/or Access
- Internet Explorer
- Interpersonal skills to include:
- Diplomacy and sensitivity
- Negotiating and influencing, including ability to say no
- Ability to work well with others, at all levels in an organisation
- Ability to develop good communications with all clinical areas within the Trust and the wider Health agencies
- Ability to work as part of a team and to be adaptable and responsive

- Knowledge of the application of the science of Quality Improvement (QI) approaches in a range of contexts.
