Job summary

At Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust research plays a key role in the development of new treatments and improvements in care for the benefit of our patients.

Warrington & Halton hospitals boasts a dedicated clinical research unit (HCRU) on the Halton site. Opened in 2021 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic the unit now regularly runs large scale commercial studies. Proud to be the home of a "global first" recruitment into an Ulcerative Colitis study.

Winners of the Research Delivery Team of the year at the NWC Research & Innovation awards 2023, and winners of the Innovation and Quality Improvement award at the annual Trust Thank You Awards 2023, the research team welcome applications for the new data and compliance administrator role.

A relatively small, but established team, the research department is part of the larger Quality Academy, hosting an annual QA Showcase here at the Trust.

The main duties of the role is to provide administrative support for the R&D team across both sites. It is anticipated that the post holder will be mostly based at the HCRU, however the research portfolio is constantly changing so flexibility is a key component to the role.

The post is for 30 hours a week to be worked over a minimum of 4 days, the exact working pattern will be agreed in consultation with the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibility for the role is for the reporting of data and query resolution on the HCRU, therefore you must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

As part of this role you will be working alongside other members of the research team, and be a first point of contact for the wider trust staff, external stakeholders, and members of the public, and so must have excellent communication skills.

You will work closely with the R&D administrator, providing cross-cover as needed. During recruitment and follow-up clinic days you may be asked to welcome participants to the unit, so a friendly and approachable manner is essential.

The post holder will be trained to use different data platforms as necessary to meet the specific requirements of individual studies. It is expected that the post holder have excellent organisational skills, and ability to prioritise their own workload.
