Job summary

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for us to recruit an Assistant HR Advisor (Band 4) to join a friendly and forward-thinking team here at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with a HR Business Partner and Senior HR Advisor to provide support to managers across the Trust with HR and employee relations matters. The role is a fantastic introduction to HR Advisory work and will offer a broad range of experience in a range of HR practices.

The role will primarily focus on providing support, advice and coaching to managers in dealing with attendance issues. With additional duties including other less complex employee relations matters as well as leading on a number of key work streams including attendance management compliance, fixed term contract reviews and maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave applications. Plus other general HR/administrative duties commensurate with the role.

We will actively try and provide development, learning opportunities and support to help ensure this is a varied and fulfilling role. We seek to support and encourage flexible working and will happily discuss any such requests.

Apprenticeship:

We would also encourage applications from people seeking to undertake any of these roles via an apprenticeship approach. If successful on this basis you will be supported to complete the Level 5 CIPD Foundation (36 months) in Human Resource Practice as part of our Apprenticeship programme.

The Assistant HR Advisor is a key part of the Business Partnering team, providing a customer focused HR service which meets the needs of the service.

The Assistant HR Advisor will work within broad policy guidelines, providing basic HR advice and support to line managers throughout the Trust.

The Assistant HR Advisor is required to interpret policies in order to provide advice and guidance as required.

The Assistant HR Advisor will provide support to managers with regards to less complex employee relations processes including some sickness absence management and flexible working requests.

The Assistant HR Advisor will undertake additional administrative duties to support managers in policy compliance.

The Assistant HR Advisor will work flexibly as part of a small team, covering absences and work within the team as required.

  • CIPD Level 5 or willing to work towards.
  • Good level of general education, including GCSE in English and Mathematics grade C.
  • Advanced IT skills in Microsoft Office.

Experience

  • Proven experience in providing comprehensive administrative support.
  • Experience of the appropriate handling of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience of data inputting, reporting and analysis.
  • Experience of providing an excellent customer service and communicating sensitive information.
