Job summary

Although the role of a Contact Centre Booking Clerk is varied, your main responsibility is to deal with the incoming calls for the Appointments Team. In addition to this, you will perform administrative duties including booking eRS appointments and managing our incoming responses from the text message appointment reminders. You will be guided by a Team Supervisor who will provide support and leadership daily and will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient booking process for patients within the guidelines of following Trust policies.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of a Contact Centre Booking Clerk is to answer the incoming calls for the Outpatient Appointments Teams and to assist patients booking new appointments, rebooking appointments and cancelling appointments, along with dealing with other patient queries which may arise. As a Contact Centre Booking Clerk, you will liaise with the other Appointments Teams regularly to ensure the patient receives high quality patient care, and an excellent experience. The successful candidate will be expected to accurately deliver administrative responsibilities within a focused and demanding environment.

The Outpatients Appointments Team consists of a Booking Team, Reception, and a Contact Centre. We are a dynamic and varied team, committed to providing excellent patient experience and delivering high quality patient care. The Contact Centre Team are based in a group of offices alongside each other, and all Contact Centre Booking Clerks deal with all specialties and appointment types. Our teams have a strong worth ethic, and provide support to each other during busy and high pressured situations.
