Job summary

SDEC is a very busy unit dealing with medical , surgical and emergency patients

HCA'S within our department are an integral part of our team ,but must be confident in managing their own workload.

Working on SDEC is extremely rewarding and interesting , and as a HCA you will work in all areas of our department.

HCA'S on SDEC have a varied role , and there all always opportunities for further learning

Main duties of the job

main duties of the job include

a)supporting the trained nursing team

b)providing personal care to all our patients

c)Providing food and drink to all our patients, dealing with food and kitchen hygiene

d)ensuring SDEC is clean and tidy at all times

e)Completing any clinical tasks requested ie )venepuncture , cannulation ECG monitoring

To ensure that we provide a high-quality standard of care to our patients by ensuring the candidate is provided with up to date in house training from the practice-based educator, which will develop the staff`sclinical skills to a high standard. Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Teaching Hospital has clear expectations of the competencies to be achieved in their role. All CSWs joining the Trust are expected tocomplete Care Certificate and work towards a level 2 recognised Healthcare award and maintain up to date mandatory training requirements.
