As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist in Secure Services, your role will involve assisting individuals in developing meaningful and independent lives, while focusing on safety and recovery. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide person-centred, occupation-based interventions that address risk management, rehabilitation, and positive outcomes.

Main duties of the job
- Complete occupational therapy assessments to identify strengths, needs, risks and occupational goals, using standardised and non-standardised tools.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate individual and group-based occupational therapy interventions aligned with care plans and recovery pathways.
- Support service users to develop life skills, coping strategies and routines that promote independence, wellbeing and safe engagement in meaningful activity.
- Contribute to risk assessment and risk management through an occupational perspective, ensuring interventions are safe and appropriate to the secure environment.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributing to reviews, CPA meetings, ward rounds and clinical discussions.
- Maintain accurate, timely and compliant clinical records and reports.
- Support service users participation in structured activity programmes, including vocational, creative, sensory and functional activities.
- Adhere to relevant legislation, policies and professional standards, including security procedures and safeguarding requirements.
- Engage in supervision, continuing professional development and service improvement activities.
- Involve service users, carers and families where appropriate, ensuring care is person centred and recovery focused.
