Job summary

We are searching for a full time (37.5 hours per week) Band 5 Registered Occupational Therapist to join us on Belvedere Ward in Exeter. Belvedere is a 14 bedded unit and the trusts only Dementia assessment unit, we care for and assess patients, usually with moderate to advance dementia, assessing their needs for planning discharge to appropriate on going future care.

Working alongside the Nursing Team, and within the MDT, you will ensure that service users receive a high standard of person-centred care to enable an enhanced quality of life for all.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist on our older adult inpatient mental health ward, you will conduct thorough assessments to understand each patients functional and mental health needs, developing tailored interventions that promote independence in daily living and enhance wellbeing. You'll deliver both individual and group therapy sessions, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support holistic care and smooth discharge planning. Monitoring progress and adapting treatments, you will also provide valuable education and support to patients and their families, helping them on their recovery journey. Accurate record-keeping and contributing to service development are key to this rewarding role where your work truly makes a difference.
