We are pleased to be advertising for Band 4 Assistant Psychologists to join us at an exciting time of development of our Dialectical Behaviour Service (DBT) within the Mood, Emotions, and Relationships pathway. These are county-wide roles with a requirement to travel to our three locality bases in CFHD (Torbay, Exeter & Barnstable).

The posts will be an ideal opportunity for practitioners looking to develop their knowledge and skills alongside a highly specialised and committed team of clinicians delivering full programme DBT to a group of young people (14-18 yrs) within a specialist CAMHS provision.

This post is full time (1.0 wte) for 1 year.

We will ensure that this role offers you the opportunity to:

  • broaden depth of psychological knowledge and experience
  • Supervised by clinical psychologist
  • Direct clinical work
  • Research & evaluation
  • Delivery of evidence-based practice as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Gain experience in working with adolescents who have emotional & behavioural dysregulation disorders
  • Gain experience in adapting psychological interventions for young people with Neurodiversity
  • Gain experience in a wide range of psychological difficulties such as depression, self-harm, anxiety, eating difficulties, and trauma.
  • Opportunities to develop skills in group work with appropriate training. This may involve working into late afternoon/early evening e.g. 5-6.30 pm
  • Gain greater CAMHS experience with complex cases linking with the different Mental Health pathways including Urgent Care, Eating Disorders and Neurodiversity
  • Opportunities to work within a service improvement, redesign and clinical effectiveness process

We are looking for people who can support the running of our skills groups, work alongside the clinical team delivering therapy, and Clinical and Management Leads to deliver a high-quality service across CFHD.
