Job summary

To provide a comprehensive, effective, confidential, and professional service to support the R&D leadership team and associated team members as appropriate.

The post holder will be responsible for processing and providing a range of proactive information; and for the accuracy and timeliness of reports and procedures, ensuring the information is transmitted appropriately.

The post holder will be a strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will be highly motivated to complete their work in a timely and efficient manner, be able to identify solutions and be willing to learn and progress their skills. Moreover the ideal candidate will be flexible and able to support the rest of the team when required and able to multi-task in a demanding environment.

The post holder will have high standard of skills using Microsoft Office packages and experience of using bespoke IT systems. They will need to meet tight deadlines, collate data and maintain standards relating to administrative processes. They will need to be able to work within a team effectively and share work streams where appropriate.

To lead on the use and development of the EDGE portfolio management system and support uptake and development of new systems (e.g. UKCRIS/Redcap)

Main duties of the job

Meeting administration: taking and distributing formal minutes; recording clear actions and following these up to check completion; maintaining attendance records.

Event coordination and planning as required.

Supporting the R&D leadership team and wider R&D team by ensuring that records are up to date on all staffing and patient systems (if appropriate) and that items are dealt with quickly and efficiently on finance systems

Coordinate the administrative and secretarial duties within a corporate setting e.g. petty cash, stationary ordering, course and travel bookings and patient bookings as required.

To provide analysis and commentary around data, highlighting insights and summarising performance to various audiences in order to support decision making and performance management of services. The post holder will work under the supervision of the R&D Governance Manager to produce information on the regular report schedule, and to respond to ad-hoc requests for information (including work to support the new Mental Health Mission clinic).

The post holder will be responsible for assimilation, validation and submission of data for central NHS organisations and other statutory bodies.

The post holder may be required to administer routine data collections and surveys as necessary.

To take a lead on the management of study amendments, ongoing site file management of active studies, and archiving of closed projects.
