We are looking for a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to join our Clinical Health
Psychology and Neuropsychology Service.
This particular post is linked to the Renal Medicine team based at the Royal
Devon University Hospital (RDUH), in Exeter.

Main duties of the job
The role is
dynamic and challenging. The post holder would work closely with the Renal Service
including another Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Specialists and Specialist
Nurses. They will also be part of the
wider Clinical Health Psychology & Neuropsychology services to the RDUH
Hospital both in Exeter and North Devon sites. There is a strong commitment across the Devon
Partnership NHS Trust and the RDUH to develop integrated services for patients
with acute and long term conditions. We enjoy strong working links between our
IAPT long term conditions service (Talking health), and liaison psychiatry
services that are leading to integrated developments in service provision
across the hospital.
We have good links with the University of
Exeter Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training course for whom we provide
clinical placements and where opportunities for clinical research and teaching
exist.
The post involves working alongside the other
psychologist in the renal service to deliver assessments and individual
psychological therapies for people at every stage of renal ill-health. The
psychology team is embedded within all aspects of the Renal Service. You will have the opportunity to contribute
to MDT meetings, department referral allocation meetings, work with other
professionals and be involved in delivering group interventions.

Job Purpose
The principle purpose of the job is to
improve the psychological health & wellbeing of people who attend Renal

Service. The post holder will be expected to make good use of the expertise of
others within the service to further develop their clinical skills with this
client group

To work autonomously within professional guidelines and support the
systematic governance of psychological practice within the health teams and services
they will work with.
6.
The post holder will receive regular professional and clinical
supervision in accordance to Trust policy and to Professional Practice
Guidelines set out by the British Psychological Society or appropriate
designated Professional Body
