Job summary
We are
looking to recruit a dynamic, energetic, and positive unregistered allied
health professional (AHP) lead support worker on a secondment
until the end of March 2025. This person will be accountable to the Practice Education
Lead. The post holder will work collaboratively to operationalise the AHP
Support Worker Competency, Education, and Career Development Framework across
the organisation.
This role is for unregistered staff. You
may be an experienced AHP support worker and will be looking to make a
difference to the experience of your current and future colleagues. You will be
supported by the practice education team to quickly become familiar with the
objectives of your role
The funding for this role allows for
0.2WTE until the end of March 2024
- It
is a collaborative role between the Practice Education and AHP Leads.
This project is part of a National AHP
Support Workforce Programme funded by NHS England. The overarching aim is to develop support
worker roles and opportunities across the organisation.
The role will involve research,
networking, and delivery of key workstream outcomes. Good communication, teamwork and experience
working as an AHP Support Worker are therefore essential to this role.
This role is subject to job matching at Band 5.
Interviews will be taking place on Friday 22nd November (AM)
Main duties of the job
Our ambitious deliverables for this
project are to provide more standardised and sustainable career development
opportunities to the non-registered AHP support workforce in the organisation
by:
Working as a champion for the Allied Health
Professional (AHP) unregistered support workforce

Identifying the AHP support workers in the organisation
and create communication channels and linkage to build a Community of Practice
for support workers

Develop
and deliver a range of activities to enable learning, development, and
progression for this staff group.

Lead
on a programme of work to develop the support worker role across the Trusts
AHP professions.

Scoping,
networking (internal and external) and consultation to deliver key workstreams
around: competency development, enhancing the scope of practice, education, and
development opportunities.

Supporting
the implementation of the AHP support worker framework.

Establish
stakeholder relationships across local, regional, and national networks

Represent the organisation at the Devon Support
Worker Council / Devon AHP Council

Provide ongoing support to ensure the ESR data
for support workers is accurate
