Job summary
Supporting the Head
of Medical Workforce as the Medical HR Manager
to the Medical and Dental Staff for the
provision of specialist advice and guidance to support achievement of
operational and business objectives and Employee Relations issues. They will
provide expert, robust advice and support to Medical staff and their line
managers on a range of human resource management issues including, but not
limited to, individual employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance
management, poor performance and attendance, workplace dispute management and
change management, ensuring that the service provided is consistent with
defined quality standards. The role will also support the Trust in the
implementation of the national and local Medical Workforce agenda and will have
the opportunity to lead and participate in many service changing projects.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role include being the first point of contact for Medical Staff Employee Relation activities, helping to support the Medical Personnel team with complex every day queries and help support the Medical Staff across the Trust to achieve the best level of care for our patients.
This is a really varied role and the opportunity to learn and develop knowledge within the area of Medical staffing is there every day.
There are also a large number of projects linked to our Medical Staff that will provide the opportunity and experience to lead and implement positive change.

- Able to foster powerful and productive collaborative working relationships internally and externally
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of formal and informal purposes
- Proven ability to effectively manage a range of situations that may evoke a strong emotional reaction
Knowledge and Skills

- Up to date knowledge of domestic and EU employment legislation
- Substantial experience of working and negotiating with trade union representatives
- Significant knowledge of UK employment legislation case law and good HR practice in order to deal with complex employee relations issues
- Knowledge of business planning, project management and risk management, and how those processes might be applied to organisational change

- Masters degree or knowledge and expertise gained through in-depth experience to masters degree level equivalent
- Postgraduate diploma in HRM or equivalent relevant professional qualification
- Chartered CIPD Membership
- Evidence of employment law updates and various other training courses an up-to-date knowledge of HR practices and evidence to continuous personal and professional development in current role.
