Job summary
Devon has created 2 new Consultant Child and Adolescent
posts in its newly developed Urgent Care Pathway that will work within the Crisis
and Home treatment Teams (CRHTT). Devon has 3 CRHTTs and an Assertive Outreach
team within its Urgent Care Pathway. Each CRHTT delivers care into our 3 main localities
serving 4 local hospitals. These posts have medical leadership at their heart;
they offer significant scope to work with the leadership team to develop and
shape the service; working as part of a committed multidisciplinary team to
provide high standard, timely, accessible care.
The candidate will work alongside a vibrant and thoughtful
consultant group who are based in localities providing psychiatry to the
different mental pathways which include; Managing Mood and Emotions, Managing
Eating, Learning Disability and Neurodiversity.
We invite candidates who have a passion and ideas for
supporting young people in crisis or who have complex mental health needs that
need intensive support. We also invite colleagues with an interest in medical
education; the service having strong links with 2 universities and medical
schools.
Devon is a large county with beautiful coastline, moorland

Candidates will be joining Devon CAMHS which is
a CQC rated Good service and part of a wider Integrated service within
Children and Family Health Devon.
Main duties of the job
This is a 10PA post working
in the Urgent Care Pathway. The service has a strong multidisciplinary ethos
and successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to
working flexibly with colleagues from other disciplines in an integrated way.
The appointee will be
expected to provide psychiatric input to the multidisciplinary team, supporting
the team with clinical decision making, offering clinical assessments and
consultation when appropriate.
There will be a
particularly strong emphasis on clinical leadership, working with service leads
to develop safe and effective services; actively contributing to the strategic
development of the service.
The successful candidate
will join the regular peer group CPD forum and will be supported to become a
clinical and/or educational supervisor and engage in teaching opportunities.
They would also be supported to develop special interests if in keeping with
wider service needs.
The successful candidate will additionally be
expected to participate in on call duties.
