Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible professionals to join the Contracting team based within the Finance function at DPT.

As a Senior Contracts Manager you will be supporting the Head of Procurement and Contracting ensure a professional contracting service is provided to the Trust, ensuring contracts are in place and supporting the service managers setting up contracts.

Main duties of the job

  • This roll will ensure appropriate contracts are in place for services that are provided by the Trust.
  • Attend Contract Review Meetings
  • Support Service Manages in meetings where contractual advice is needed.
  • Offer advice on contracting arrangements.
  • Linking in with Finance around income expectations.
  • Deputised for the Head of Procurement and Contracting.
  • Ensure the Trust submits contractual returns.

Job responsibilities

Job Purpose

  • To work as a member of the finance team having specific responsibility for the development and management of the Trusts Healthcare Contracts.
  • To support the procurement in tenders, this will include assisting Operational lead in the procurement process, supporting negotions following procurement regulations and ensuring appropriate contracts are in place.To support the negotiation process for all Healthcare contracts procured or income relating.
  • To work together with Clinical Directorates and Service Commissioners to develop and manage working relationships to deliver improvements to services and help to achieve value for money.
  • Ensure contract documentation appropriate to the transaction is in place.
  • Ensure sign off of contract documentation takes place prior to formal contract signatory.
  • Put in place appropriate arrangement for meeting the monitoring requirements of the contract.
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate the monthly contract monitoring meeting.
  • Support other areas within the Trust on contract documentation (e.g. IPP, Provider Collaboratives)
  • Investigate complex contract enquiries and provide assistance and advice as required.
  • Support the Finance Department in the preparation and completion of statutory NHS returns within predetermined timescales and legal requirements and interpreting these as required.

  • To work towards agreed objectives operating within broad professional policies
