Child Family Health Devon (CFHD) has developed an innovative,
integrated model and are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our
friendly and dedicated pathways.
We are looking for an experienced Clinical
Psychologist to join us in a senior role (8a) in
our Urgent Care pathway, providing mental health provision across Devon.
It is an
exciting time for the pathway as we have been awarded funding from NHS England
to set up an EMDR pilot to support young people who have experienced trauma and
are accessing urgent care services to be able to quickly access the
intervention that they require. There is
funding available for the successful applicant to become a fully accredited
EMDR practitioner and be a leading clinician in the development of this pilot.
Preceptorship
opportunity - new/early qualified psychologists could be
appointed to these roles at B7 under a preceptorship to work towards
requirements for B8a, subject to satisfactory completion of preceptorship
process.

advanced level clinical thinking and formulation, skills in supervision, consultation
and MDT working to this pathway at an exciting time of development.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior
Clinical Psychologist, you will be offering high-quality complex assessments
and psychological input to children, young people and their families who access
the support of the Urgent Care Pathway. You will bring advanced formulation
skills and consultation to your team alongside wider service development
contributions.
Alongside this, there will be further CPD opportunities to support your
development and a commitment to supporting your career progression at this
stage in relation to consolidating your supervisory role and leadership skills
as well as further expanding your clinical knowledge and skills.
You will have regular clinical supervision and separate line management.
You will be supported with a job plan with opportunities to use a breadth of
skills including research and service development. There is a strong and
friendly network of Clinical Psychologists working across CFHD, enjoying shared
CPD and professional support. We also have excellent links with local Doctoral
courses for teaching and Trainee placements.

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.
CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health which are provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.
Our integrated care and treatment has been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers.

The Urgent Care pathway consists of Crisis Teams, the
Assertive Outreach Team and the Learning Disability Autism Keyworker Programme
(LDAP). The pathway is county wide with
locality hubs within it, which lends itself to the location being negotiable
dependent on an individuals needs so long as service needs can be met.
In this pathway, the appointed Senior Clinical Psychologist
will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, which includes Clinical
Psychology, Consultant Psychiatry, Systemic Psychotherapy, Mental Health
Nursing, Assistant Practitioners and Mental Health Practitioners from a broad
range of backgrounds.
The Urgent Care pathway provides an acute crisis response as
well as offering therapeutic work with specific emphasis on adolescents with
complex and severe mental health problems. The team works to an AMBIT framework
alongside a broad spectrum of therapeutic modalities that are being used.
As a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the team, your role
will include complex psychological assessment and formulation, specialist advice/consultation,
delivering short-term psychological interventions, as well as providing
clinical supervision and teaching. You will also be supported to engage in
service development and research as well as activities to support developing
leadership skills.
