Job summary

ASPIRE programme (commences May 2024) Get paid to train to become a Registered Nurse Mental Health (RNMH) (subject to eligibility).

WANTED!! Devon Partnership NHS Trust are looking for passionate individuals who want to make a positive difference in the lives of people with mental health issues in Devon.

Part 1 PGCert Professional Certificate in Preparing for Practice in Nursing Individuals with Mental Health Conditions This is for a 7-month duration as a trainee RNMH with paid salary Band 4 (£23,949-£26,282), subject to agenda for change banding.

Part 2 Apprenticeship MSc Pre-registration Mental Health Nursing. Where agreed at interview, you will get an automatic entry on to part 2 on successful completion/pass of part 1.

Commencing after completion of the PG Cert this is for a 2-year duration, with a paid salary at Band 4 (£23,949-£26,282) for those eligible or alternatively you can choose the Direct Entry Route (funded by student finance England (subject to eligibility).

Minimum entry requirements:

A previous degree with a 3rdclassification or a Foundation degree

Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy (or equivalent at a pass rate)

Mandatory briefing for shortlisted candidates week commencing 19th February, interviews to take place week commencing 26th February

This opportunity is available across our Services in Devon Partnership Trust.

There is a requirement to attend residential and face to face days at the University as part of ASPIRE

Main duties of the job

Work under the guidance and support of the team or identified nurse to assist the service in delivering their clinical day-to-day activities and overall service protocols, and processes.

To participate in, support and maintain therapeutic interventions and planned activity programmes as part of the individuals care plan

To communicate any changes in the persons presentation to immediate senior person or appropriate professional in a timely manner.

To communicate effectively with people using our services, considering any communication difficulties they may be experiencing due to their poor mental health.

To offer emotional support, advice, information, and education to people using services, carers and their family including signposting them to other services.

To foster and maintain good working relations with the wider multi-disciplinary team, community teams, health and social care workers and other services. Receiving and sharing information from GPs, acute services, carers and other agencies.

Giving information and assistance to people using services and their carers so that they are aware of their rights, entitlements and the contents of their care plan.

Deal with general enquiries from other professionals, patients and members of the public.

Be involved in service user or other engagement groups as directed.

Adhere to and aim to achieve the required level for the module learning, nurse competencies and practice hours of the Aspire programme.
