Child and Family Health Devon (CFHD) is thrilled to
announce an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join
our team as a permanent Band 8b Service Manager for the Mental Health Support
Team (MHST). In this pivotal role, you will oversee the MHST service, working
collaboratively with the CFHD Heads of Service to drive operational excellence.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and resilient professional
with exceptional operational skills and experience. As the Band 8b Service
Manager for MHST, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and
effective response of the service to meet the mental health needs of children,
young people, and families. Your outstanding communication skills, coupled with
a compassionate focus on improving mental health services, will be essential in
leading through change and piloting new innovations across Devon.
Working closely with CFHD clinical leads, you will bring
your operational expertise to supervise and manage the team. Your role will
involve fostering a collaborative environment, where operational management,
leadership, and a commitment to outstanding care are paramount. Remaining calm
and compassionate under pressure, you will have a keen eye for data and a
strong focus on performance improvement.

most importantly, it has been developed and refined in partnership with

To deputise
for the Heads of Pathways and have shared responsibility for the mobilisation
and operational leadership, management, quality, staff, finances and
performance of nominated service areas, focussed on delivering transformational
change and service level improvements. Typically, these teams will include medical,
nursing, AHP and clinical leads. To significantly contribute to the overall
Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) strategy/policy to ensure that the
service delivers its quality, people, finance and performance objectives. To
provide strong operational leadership across an integrated provision of care
delivering on the effective management of demand and capacity and ensuring
appropriate processes are embedded to deliver outstanding care to children and
young people in Devon.
Within this
role the post holder will:
Provide leadership management within specific
areas and pathways of care.
To operate as a senior member of the senior
leadership team within Children and Family health Devon (CFHD) and contribute
to the senior manager out of hours on call duty system.
Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of
care pathways through the service including triage, assessment, treatment, and
discharge of children and young people across a range of care pathways.
Work in partnership with the clinical lead,
operational leads and other clinical leaders, to maintain a culture within the
service of excellence in clinical standards and safety.
Operate as a senior leader within the
multi-agency network of childrens services in Devon and Torbay to ensure the
service is delivered as part of an integrated system of care to improve health
outcomes for Devon and Torbay children and young people.
Ensure the transformational service model is
delivered to meet key performance targets as outlined in the Outcomes
Framework.
To ensure a culture where children, young people
and their families/carers and the public are involved in the decision-making
processes of services and in the wider context of the Alliance
To participate in all discussions and
decision-making processes that relate to the strategic plans, liaising closely
with, and ensuring these augments with the Alliance.
To promote patient and public involvement in all
areas of responsibility
Ownership of system relationships with
