Job summary
As a Nursery Nurse working at Jasmine Lodge you will be an integral part of the Multi Disciplinary Team. You will have a sound working knowledge of baby care, mostly from 0-12 months. You will be working alongside mentally unwell mothers and supporting them to care for their baby. You will be sharing your knowledge with the team with regards to best practice and safe care.
You will have an understanding of infant mental health and you will be able to advocate for the infant.
Safeguarding is a core part of your role as a Nursery Nurse, this includes making referrals when appropriate or escalating through the internal safeguarding team.

- Experience of working actively with young babies within the last few months and having contributed directly to the development of services available to them.
- Relevant post qualification experience.
- Experience of observing changes in the physical and psychological condition of babies and contributing to the development of skills in other staff and being able to monitor this.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a mental health setting.
- Experience of managing or supporting staff.
Qualifications

- Nursery Nurse Examination Board (NNEB) or Diploma at Level 4 NVQ in childcare & education or National diploma in early years or equivalent experience.
Knowledge

- Detailed knowledge of child development and knowledge of age and stage of appropriate play activities.
- Understanding of the Childrens Act and knowledge of child protection guidelines.
- Knowledge of primary health care relating to young infants.
- Ability to implement previous learning in practice and demonstrate reflective practice.

- Awareness of the National Service Framework (NSF) for Children and other Government initiatives.
- Ability to manage difficult situations or provide advice to others to ensure they act appropriately.
