Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a part time Band 8A Service
Manager to join our First Response Service based in Exeter.
This will be a job
share arrangement with the existing service manager who is reducing her hours
from the 30th June 2023. There is some flexibility in the hours
available either 0.4 WTE (15 hours/week) or 0.5 WTE (18.75 hours/week).
Together with the existing Service Manager you will jointly manage a large and
fast paced crisis service at an existing time of change as we implement the
requirements of the NHS Long Term Plan.
The team promotes a dynamic and innovative way of working,
triaging and responding to crisis referrals. The role encompasses the NHS
principle; right care, right time and right place. The First Response Service
triages mental health crisis calls and referrals, providing tele-coaching
psychological interventions, support, guidance and signposting. The service
further delivers timely and responsive face to face assessments where
indicated.
You will be an experienced professionally registered clinician
with substantial experience of working in mental health services - particularly
crisis services together with significant experience of management, supervision
and leadership at Band 7 level or above.
You will need to be capable of
managing a fast paced environment which requires sound clinical judgement and
strong people management skills.
Main duties of the job
Together with the existing Service Manager you will manage a team of Band 7 Clinical Practice Leads and the Band 7 FRS Team Manager (the Band 7s in turn supervise and manage the Band 6 and 5 clinical staff). You will be supported by the FRS Business Manager and clinically by the FRS Consultant Psychiatrist and Principal Psychologist.
The successful applicant will be required to join the corporate senior manager on-call rota.
