Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Support Secretary within our Older People's Community Mental Health Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our team with proven secretarial experience and the ability to complete tasks to a high standard. You should be able to work on your own initiative and as part of the wider team. You will be supporting a Consultant and a team of Specialist Clinical Practitioners, and will also be part of a wider administration team supporting the community staff. Full training will be provided for the role. We are able to provide the option of some home working, this is provided on a rota basis and is dependent on service need. You will be given a warm welcome and plenty of support. The team regularly gather for team days and well-being events. On site parking is available at a subsidised rate, and the local town is a short walk away with lots of independent retailers, cafes and riverside walks.
Main duties of the job
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Audio typing / transcribing.
- Formatting of text into professional letters requiring excellent grammar skills.
- Minute taking for meetings.
- Diary management (Outlook and electronic patient record).
- Managing email inbox / tasks.
- Making appointments with patients on the telephone.
- Clinic management - electronic patient record / room bookings.
- Prescription ordering / management.
- Scanning / electronic filing.
