in Baywide Community
Mental Health Team.This is a
permanent post as the previous post holder moved on . It is a post for a General Adult
Psychiatrist for patients age 16-65 years old (16-18 out of fulltime education)
serving a predominantly urban community in Torbay.
Our Trust has worked closely
with the commissioners to redesign the service and the recently formed Adult
LDU for Torbay is divided into two teams based on Primary Care Network
configuration. It
has a long history of excellent community based services and has worked
innovatively for many years.
The
post is with a well-established multidisciplinary team of nurses, psychologist,
occupational therapists, and community support workers. The post holder will
also be supported by, and will supervise, a specialist doctor/trust grade
junior doctor working with the team. At
the discretion of the clinical tutor of the rotation scheme a trainee
psychiatrist (in addition to the aforementioned specialist doctor/trust grade
junior doctor) could be allocated to the post for education and training
purposes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be
currently based at the Health and Wellbeing Clinic, (Chadwell Centre) within
the Paignton area, where private office space with PC accessibility and IT
support is available and appropriate secretarial support will be provided. S/he will offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment
of patients as well as other expert clinical services in Baywide PCN. The post
holder is expected to be part of s12 rota and on call rota.
This is an exciting role for
someone who wants to take part in the development of community mental health services.
Apart from the regular clinical duties, the post holder is expected to take
active part in multidisciplinary team meetings, referrals meetings, governance
meetings and, contribute to the development of mental health services in the area.
The post has a dedicated 2.5 SPA time for developing and executing the
management and leadership skills.
